Managed Charging

If you are an EV driver looking for seamless way to earn incentives and support your local electric grid, this solution is designed with simplicity in mind. Just plug in and leave the rest to us!

Receive up to

$175

Consisting of a $75 enrollment incentive, and an additional participation incentive of $10 for each month you remain in the pilot, up to $100.* Incentives will be paid as a virtual prepaid Mastercard® upon enrollment and at the conclusion of the pilot.

* The pilot will run from December 2024 through October 2025.

Eligible Devices:

 ✔ Allows for automated, more sustainable and cost-effective charging

✔ Ability to opt out of charging adjustments

✔ Ameren Illinois will help you shift your routine charging into the overnight hours when demand on the grid is lower, while ensuring your EV is fully charged by your desired departure time.

✔ During periods of high demand for electricity, Ameren Illinois may opt you in to a demand response event where your EV charging is delayed for no more than two hours. No more than 15 demand response events will occur during the duration of this pilot. 

✔ If you live in an Equity Investment Eligible Community (EIEC), you qualify for an additional $50 enrollment incentive. For more information check out this site. 

✔ This pilot program will also help customers enrolled in Ameren Illinois' ChargeSmart program shift their EV charging into the Preferred Charging Period (11:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.)

✔ Contribute to enhancing Ameren Illinois' understanding of EV charging patterns and expected grid impacts as more EVs hit the road. 

✔ You will remain in control of your charging, and you'll help Ameren Illinois manage energy consumption – a win-win.

This solution benefits drivers that are comfortable sharing their EV charging data with Ameren Illinois to help improve future programs for EV drivers, but who do not want their charging to be actively managed by Ameren Illinois.

Eligible Devices:

 ✔ Contribute to enhancing Ameren Illinois' understanding of EV charging patterns.

✔ Remain in control of your charging; Ameren Illinois will not have any ability to modify your charging level or patterns.

✔ By participating, you contribute to enhancing Ameren Illinois' understanding of EV charging patterns, helping Ameren Illinois prepare for the increase in EV charging loads expected as EV adoption increases and to develop new programs for EV drivers down the road. 

✔ Ameren Illinois will review the charging data from your vehicle telematics or your home EV charger to understand whether this data is robust enough to use for future EV rate offerings or incentive programs designed to help EV drivers reduce their charging costs.
